DAY 1 - VIENTIANE - ARRIVAL

Upon arrival to Vientiane, our guide and driver will be waiting at the airport to provide transport to the hotel for check in. After checking in, the remainder of the day is free at leisure to explore Vientiane.

For a great first experience, head down to the riverfront in the early evening. Strolling along the Mekong, enjoy sampling local snacks or browsing some of the many souvenir stalls. As this area is also very popular amongst the locals, it’s a great place to get acquainted with Lao culture.

DAY 2 - VIENTIANE - CITY TOUR - ORCHID FARM - BAN HATKHAY

This morning, enjoy a half-day guided tour through Vientiane. Start off at Wat Sisaket, one of the most beautiful temples in the capital. Continue on to the nearby Wat Phra Keo. Used as a religious museum, Wat Phra Keo displays a collection of both Lao and Khmer works of art. While it can only be viewed from outside, the nearby Presidential Palace is a beautiful glimpse into the colonial past of Laos.

Continue with a visit to COPE, an association working to help landmine victims. A visit to the center provides in-depth information about the history of the American/Vietnam war and the lasting impact of unexploded ordinances (UXO) in the area and the efforts underway to clear them.

Next is a visit to the Patuxay monument, Laos’ version of the Arc de Triomphe, where sweeping views of the city await from its accessible roof. Afterwards,Enjoy a delicious lao - style lunch at Lao Kitchen.

After lunch, head to the Orchid Farm to meet up with an orchid expert (French & English speaking). The guide will explain the different species of orchids and the efforts made to protect these fragile flowers.

Drive on to Ban Hatkhay, the final destination for the night, arriving around 17:30-18:00. After a short tour of the village, enjoy a traditional Lao dinner alongside the locals.

DAY 3 - ORCHID TREK - VIENTIANE

After breakfast at the village, depart around 09:00 for the Tad Sae waterfall. It will be a 2-hour walk to reach Tad Saang, a cascade of over 50 meters wide and 5 meters high. The waterfall is a beautiful place with a large pool, ideal for swimming.

After lunch nearby the waterfall, depart for the other side of the Nam Leuk to reach the trek’s starting point. The second part of the trek, which is rich in forest and a variety of landscapes, will last around 2 hours.

After the trekking experience, head back to the village for refreshments and a transfer to Vientiane around 18:00.

The rest of the day is free at leisure.

DAY 4 - VIENTIANE - DEPARTURE

After breakfast, enjoy the remainder of the morning free at leisure before transport (provided) to the airport for the departing flight.

Option: Enjoy a relaxing Lao massage

This traditional massage technique will help relieve aches and pains stored in the muscles, improve blood circulation, increase energy and flexibility. The technique uses firm thumb and palm pressure on the body's energy lines.

Vientiane has a tropical climate, with average daily temperatures ranging between 75-98°F (24-37°C). Between November to March is the best time to visit Vientiane. This is when the area’s weather is consistently warm and dry, and if you’re planning on doing lots of sightseeing, you’ll want this kind of weather.

March to May tends to be the hottest months, with temperatures as high as 104°F (40°C). Humidity is high as well. The rainy season starts from May or June and lasts until the end of October. Although there’s a lot of rain, it usually comes in short bursts, leaving the rest of the day warm and sunny. Coming here during this time means you won’t have to deal with a lot of other travelers.

Vientiane is a very safe place to backpack and travel. Vientiane has very little crime. Petty theft is the main concern here. Keep your valuables locked up at your accommodations, and keep a close eye on your wallet or purse at all times.

As with elsewhere in Southeast Asia, it’s not uncommon for people to try to rip you off because they assume you have lots of money.

Just complete and send the reservation form on our website, making sure that you have given us your e-mail address and phone number. As soon as we receive your request we will contact you to confirm the reservation. It is our policy to reply to all requests within 24 hours.

You will be notified via an e-mail (within 24 hours after placing your order) and we will do our best to suggest or book an alternative similar hotel based on your preferences and our experience.

6. What is the latest time that I can make my reservation?

We can only guarantee bookings made at least 3-working days (not including Sun & Public holidays) before the departure date.

7. How far in advance can I book?

You can book as far as 24 months in advance, but please ensure you remember you have made the reservation. We will charge 20% of total rate is required upon the confirmation of services require full payment 60 days before departure.

You can expect to receive the invoice as a reminder well in advance of your trip.

8. How do I make a reservation for someone else?

To complete a reservation for someone else, simply type in his or her name instead of yours for guest name. Don’t forget to use your email address to receive your confirmation information.

9. What happens to my tour booking if my flight is delayed?

Please inform us and the hotel immediately as any changes or fee will depend on the hotel policy. We will also try our best to offer you similar ground services.

1. Deposits & Payment Policy:

A deposit of 25% of the total of the tour is required upon confirmation of booking tour. You have peace of mind until 2 months before departure dates. At that point, we would require full prepayment only 60 days before departure for all services by money transfer or credit card payment with all bank transfer charges/ fees to be paid by the client.
All the tour packages on this website operate on a pre-payment basis. Payment can be made either using a major credit card as Visa, Mastercard, and American Express Credit Card, not including credit card transaction fee ( Please add in 3% fee for Visa, Mastercard or 4% for American Express to the total amount of payment each time).

Cancellations timeline will be charged as follows:

60 days prior to the arrival date: Non Refundable deposit charge and the cancellation fees applied by the concerned services suppliers such as flight company, boat company, train, hotels… in accordance with their cancellations policies if any.
59 – 31 days prior to arrival date: Cancellations fee of 30% per group/booking and plus the cancellation fees applied by the concerned services suppliers such as flight company, boat company, train, hotels… in accordance with their cancellations policies if any.
30 days – 15 days prior to arrival date: Cancellations fee of 50% per group/booking plus the cancellation fees applied by the concerned services suppliers such as flight company, boat company, train, hotels… in accordance with their cancellations policies if any.
14 – 7 days before arrival: Cancellations fee 70% charge plus the cancellation fees applied by the concerned services suppliers such as flight company, boat company, train, hotels… in accordance with their cancellations policies if any.
Less than 7 days before arrival Or No show: 100 % charge per group/booking.

*** Nonrefundable deposit and banking service fee will be forfeited in all cancellation cases.

No refund will be given for any unused service after the trip has commenced.

5. Liability

VIET GREEN TRAVEL is not responsible for any loss, injury or damage sustained by passengers. Additional expenses incurred due to delays, accidents, natural disaster, political actions, and unrest must be borne by the passengers. Passengers are required to have full travel insurance.

Airline schedules and local conditions may affect accommodation and itineraries. Should this occur, VIET GREEN TRAVEL will endeavor to substitute a suitable arrangement of similar value. Participation on any tours implies full agreement to the above conditions by all parties involved.

6. Passport and Entry Visa

Your passport must be valid for at least six months following your entry date to your travel destination.

It is your responsibility to ensure that you are in possession of a valid passport and visa and all travel documents are valid for travel.

7. Travel Insurance

Travel insurance is not included in your tour price. It is the passenger’s responsibility to verify whether his/her local health insurance carrier provides coverage while traveling. Please contact your insurance carrier for details.

VIET GREEN TRAVEL strongly advises that you purchase a comprehensive travel insurance policy to cover all aspects of your tour: the loss of deposits through cancellation lost of baggage and personal items, personal injury and death. A waiver must be signed if insurance is declined.
