DAY 16: LUANG PRABANG - PHA TAD KE

Morning:

- Our guide and driver pick us up at the hotel for the transfer to The Pha Tad Ke

- The boat departs from Ban Wat That at 9:00. You will have a 15-minutes boat ride down the Mekong River

- As soon as arrived at Pha Tad Ke Botanical Garden, a short presentation about the gardens will be presented

- Immerse in the amazing mountainous Mekong landscape and learn how to make a bamboo stick animal at the site of the hunting lodge of the former royal family in the Ginger Garden and the Ethno-botanic Garden

- Visit the Arboretum, Palm Garden, and Bamboo Garden overlooking the rice fields

- Stop by the Mist House where it introduces the vital role of biodiversity conservation

- Have an optional orchid talk at Pha Tad Ke Nursery to ask any questions about all the gardens

- Try a delicious Lao set lunch before taking the boat back to Luang Prabang

DAY 17: LUANG PRABANG - TRADITIONAL ARTS & ETHNOLOGY CENTER - KUANG SI WATERAFALLS

Morning:

- Picked up at the hotel by our guide and driver at 06:30

- Join the morning alms giving, one of the most sacred Laos traditions dating back to the 14th century

- Behold the parade of more than 200 Buddhist monks walking down the street to gather their daily meals from the residents

- Have breakfast at the hotel after being experienced the flavor of local life when taking part in morning market activities

- Get transferred to the Traditional Arts & Ethnology Center (TAEC), which fully presents the Lao diverse ethnic culture

- Join in a 60-minute presentation and question-and-answer session at “Ethnic Diversity and Cultural Change in Laos” that gives background on Laos’ ethnic communities, their history, and their cultural practices, including livelihoods and crafts

Afternoon:

- Head to the beautiful Kuang Si waterfalls, the biggest waterfall in the Luang Prabang area

- Visit the Bear Rescue Center, which houses a couple of dozen animals rescued from the hands of poachers and traffickers

- Stop to visit the Kuang Si Falls Butterfly Park on the way back to Luang Prabang

- Swing by the Ock Pop Tock Living Craft Center, where a short tour to get information about Silk, weaver, about the Women that work in the Centre is presented

DAY 18: LUANG PRABANG - MUANG SOUNE HOMESTAY

Morning:

- Head to Muang Soune, which locates 5 km from the center in the north of Luang Prabang by the bank of Nam Ou river

- Stroll around the village with the host family to see the life of the local people where everything is answered by the chief village including the living conditions and the history

- Have lunch at the house of the host family

Afternoon:

- Have options such as spending time relaxing or joining in agricultural activities like planting and harvesting in rice fields

- Observe the traditional fishing techniques, walk around the farm and rice field, and swim in the Nam Ou River

- Support the host with preparing the dinner which describes Lao cuisine

- Join the Baci Ceremony before dinner, held by the elders of the village

- Listen to the folk tales in the Laos language during dinner by the host family

DAY 19: LUANG PRABANG - PAK OU CAVES - BAN CHAN

- Take a boat trip exploring the surrounding areas

- Come back to the village and join the transfer back to Luang Prabang

- Stop at Ban Pak Ou to have lunch at the restaurant overlooking the Pak Ou caves, Mekong, and Nam Ou River

Afternoon:

- 13:30: Visit Pak Ou Caves, where thousands of gold lacquered Buddha statues of various shapes and sizes were left inside by pilgrims

- Take the boat downstream the Mekong River back to Luang Prabang
